Getting Started

What is Loops?

Loops is a habit app with weekly AI coaching. You track what matters to you, and each week the AI writes you a personalized reflection — what's clicking, where things slipped, and one thing worth trying next. It also looks at six areas of your life, so you can see the whole picture instead of just your productivity.

How is this different from other habit apps?

Three things. You get a weekly AI reflection that actually coaches you — not just a completion percentage. You see six life dimensions instead of a flat checklist. And there are no streaks, because guilt has never been a good motivator.

Is Loops free?

Yes — you can use Loops for free with up to 6 habits, daily tracking, starter routines, and the dimension view. When you're ready to go deeper, Pro adds unlimited habits, weekly AI reflections, all coaching styles, and the full routine library for $8.99/month or $34.99/year.

What's the 14-day trial?

When you sign up, you get 14 days of Pro for free — no credit card required. That's enough time for two weekly AI reflections, so you can feel the difference before deciding.

What devices does Loops support?

iPhone with iOS 17 or later. We'd love to be on iPad and Android too — they're on the roadmap.

Habits & Routines

How many habits can I track?

Free: up to 6. Pro: unlimited.

What are routines?

Routines are curated sets of habits built around a goal or lifestyle — like a Stoic morning practice, or a burnout recovery plan. Each one is sequenced with intention and backed by research. Clone one, then make it yours.

Can I edit a routine after I start it?

Yes. Routines are starting points. Add habits, remove ones that don't fit, change the timing. They're experiments — make them yours.

What routines are available?

20 routines across categories like Stoic philosophy, deep work, ADHD-friendly, burnout recovery, creative practice, parenting, and more. Free users get 5 starter routines. Pro unlocks all 20.

Can I create my own habits?

Yes. You can add custom habits with a name, description, frequency, time of day, and which life dimensions they connect to.

AI Coaching

How does the AI reflection work?

Every Sunday evening, the AI looks at your week and writes you a short, personalized reflection. It notices patterns you might miss — what's gaining momentum, what's slipping, and why. Think of it as a letter from a thoughtful coach who's been paying attention.

What AI model does Loops use?

Claude by Anthropic. Loops uses AI specifically for your weekly reflections — it's a coach, not a chatbot.

Can I get a reflection anytime, or just Sundays?

Pro users can request a reflection whenever they want. Your scheduled Sunday reflection still arrives on its own.

What are the coaching styles?

You choose how much guidance you want:

  • Minimal — Calm and quiet. Short reflections. Trusts you to lead.
  • Supportive — A warm mentor. Notices patterns, asks questions, offers encouragement.
  • Active — Direct and research-backed. Specific recommendations and accountability.

Minimal is available on the free tier. Supportive and Active are Pro features.

What if I had a bad week?

Then you had a bad week. The AI meets you where you are — it won't guilt you, won't lecture you, won't tell you you're falling behind. It'll help you understand what got in the way so you can come back stronger.

The Six Dimensions

What are the six dimensions?

Six areas of a whole life:

  • Energy — Body and mind. Am I resourced?
  • Growth — Learning and evolving. Am I becoming?
  • Impact — Meaningful work. Am I contributing?
  • Joy — What lights you up. Am I living what I love?
  • Connection — Relationships. Am I present with others?
  • Freedom — Time and choices. Am I unconstrained?

Each habit you create maps to one or more dimensions, and Loops shows you where you're thriving and where something's gone quiet.

Why these six?

They came from years of personal life design and research into what actually matters for wellbeing. Most apps focus on productivity alone. We think that's one slice of a much bigger picture.

What happens if one dimension is low?

It just means that area hasn't gotten much attention recently. That might be fine — life has seasons, and sometimes you focus on work at the expense of play. Loops helps you see the imbalance so you can choose it consciously instead of drifting into it.

Account & Data

Do I need an account?

Yes — so your data stays safe and syncs across devices. You can sign in with Apple or use email and password.

Is my data private?

Yes. Your data is encrypted and stored securely. The AI only sees your habit patterns when generating reflections — nothing personal. Full details in our privacy policy.

Does Loops work offline?

Yes. Track your habits, review past reflections, and do everything you normally would — it all syncs when you're back online. The only thing that needs internet is generating a new AI reflection.

Can I export my data?

Yes. You can export your habit data as a CSV anytime from Settings. Your data belongs to you.

How do I delete my account?

In your Profile settings, tap “Delete Account.” Everything gets permanently removed — we don't hold onto anything.

What does Pro include?

How much does Pro cost?

$8.99/month or $34.99/year. The annual plan saves you 68%.

How does the free trial work?

You get 14 days of Pro when you sign up — no credit card, no commitment. That's two full weekly reflections to feel the difference. If you decide it's not for you, you keep everything you've built.

How do I cancel?

Subscriptions are managed through Apple. Go to Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Loops → Cancel. You keep Pro access until the end of your billing period.

Can I restore a previous purchase?

Yes. If you reinstall the app or switch devices, go to Profile → Restore Purchases. This will reactivate your subscription.

What happens if I downgrade to free?

Everything you've built stays — your habits, your data, your history. You just won't get new AI reflections until you upgrade again. Nothing disappears.

Troubleshooting

My habits aren't syncing

Pull down to refresh on your dashboard. If things are still stuck, try signing out and back in — your local data is safe. If it keeps happening, let us know.

I'm not getting my weekly reflection

Reflections arrive Sunday evenings. Make sure notifications are on for Loops in your phone's Settings. And if you're on the free tier — AI reflections are a Pro feature.

Something isn't working right

Email us at support@loops.today and tell us what happened. A screenshot helps, but isn't required. We read every message.

Philosophy

Why no streaks?

Because streaks make you protect the number instead of building the habit. One missed day breaks the streak, and the guilt often kills the whole thing. We'd rather you miss a day, learn something from it, and come back. That's how real change actually works.

Why "habits as experiments"?

Because some habits work for you and some don't, and both are useful information. If you try meditating for a month and it doesn't stick, that's not failure — that's data. Maybe the timing was wrong, or meditation isn't your thing, or you need a different approach. Framing habits as experiments gives you permission to adjust without shame.

Why six dimensions instead of just a habit list?

Because you're a whole person. Tracking productivity habits while ignoring sleep, relationships, and joy gives you a distorted picture. The six dimensions help you see when your life is out of balance — which is usually when things start breaking down.

What does "Track less. Become more." mean?

It means the goal isn't to track more habits. It's to become who you want to be. The tracking is just the mechanism. The becoming is the point.
